Brad Pitt as Lt. Aldo Raine

Quentin Tarantino chose to cast Brad Pitt as Lt. Aldo Raine, the main character of Inglorious Basterds, due to his popularity in the consumer film world. Brad Pitt is an extremely famous actor in the Action genre of this film, known for action films such as the Ocean's series and Troy.

This would bring in an audience as he has a worldwide fan base, and has been nominated for 4 Golden Globes and has won 2. He also has one many other awards such as an MTV Movie Award for Best Performance - Male, a Teen Choice Award for Best Action Actor, a Gotham Award for Best Ensemble Cast and many more.

Another reason he could of been chosen was the fact he is very attractive and appealing to female audiences. In 1994, he recieved an MTV Movie Award for Most Desirable Male. Eli Roth's role in this film is a supporting actor in this film. The fact of his casting is as a cameo role as he is well known in the genre for his directing roles. The main idea is a sort of 'grindhouse' appeal and the attraction of die hard fans, as they would recognise them from the specialized knowledge of the genre.

Michaels Fassbenders appeal is exactly the same as Eli Roth's as they are both directors in this genre.

Mainly A Cameo role, but Mike Myers is used as he is famous for his portayal of British characters with a Strong British accent (Austin Powers) and is supposed to portray a typical British man.
