MARKETING
Inglourious Basterds was premiered at the Cannes Film festival, advertised on NBC's 26 television stations, and also broadcast on Bravo and Scifi. an example of synergy here is the trailer was shown on FOX and FX, which are owned by Newscorp.
there was posters, a soundtrack and merchandise(t-shirts) sold after its DVD release.
This is England had trailers shown on film4 and channel 4, and HMV sold posters and advertised it before it was released. there was a much smaller audience to the adverts of This Is England as blockbusters can afford to broadcast on much more popular channels. Also, a TV series was made after the bluray release.
